Resolve Insufficient Server Storage Space in BDRSuite Backup Server

Insufficient Server Storage Space in BDRShield Backup Server

KB ID: 101016
Issue:
The error message "Not enough space in Server storage location" occurs on the BDRShield Backup Server when the drive designated to store the backup data from a BDRShield Client becomes full. Consequently, the server is unable to back up any additional data for that specific BDRShield Client.
Cause:
The error arises due to the lack of available storage space on the server's drive where BDRShield Client backup data is stored.
Solution:
Follow the appropriate steps based on your BDRShield Backup Server version and repository type to address this issue:
For BDRShield v5.1 and above with Configured Repository Type as Scale Out:
  1. Log in to the BDRShield web console and navigate to Backup Server Tile -> Backup Repository -> Block Storage.
  2. Under "Action," click on "Edit" and select a storage volume to update.
  3. If the repository type is Simple or Disk Rotation, free up space on the drive, and then schedule the failed backup to check the backup result.
For VembuBDR v5.0 with Configured Repository Type as Scale Out:
  1. Access the BDRShield web console and go to BDR Infrastructure -> Backup Repository -> Block Storage.
  2. Under "Action," click on "Edit" and choose a storage volume to update.
  3. If the repository type is Simple or Disk Rotation, ensure enough space is freed on the drive, and then schedule the failed backup to check the backup result.
For VembuBDR v4.2 and below:
  1. Check the available free space on the storage volume in the backup server by navigating to the "Management - Storage Management" page.
  2. If the storage volume is filled, add additional storage volumes by clicking the "Edit" button.
  3. After updating the storage management with new volumes, schedule the failed backup to check the backup result.
By following the appropriate steps for your BDRShield version and repository type, you can resolve the issue of insufficient server storage space and ensure successful client backups.
