This KB article provides steps for converting to the 'BDRShield Backup Server Free Edition' after the trial period expires.

After the trial period for BDRShield expires, you have the option to either register the Backup Server with the BDRShield Portal for license purchase or continue using the Free Edition. Follow these steps to continue with the Free Edition:

Step 1: Register with BDRShield Portal

Once the trial period ends, register the Backup Server with the portal account:

1. Navigate to "Backup Server Tile -> Management -> License Menu."

2. Choose one of the following options:

1. "I want to create a new BDRShield Account and register the server with this account."
2. "I want to register the server with my existing BDRShield Portal account."
   

If you click on the second option;

Step 2: Run License Check

After registration, perform a 'Run License Check' from the Backup Server web console to reflect the changes.

Step 3: Activate Edition

1. Click on "Backup Server Tile -> Management -> Edition Menu."

2. Select the desired edition and proceed with the activation.

Step 4: Log Out and Log In

After successful activation, log out and log in to the BDRShield Backup Server web console for the changes to take effect.

Note: If the server is already registered, navigate to "Backup Server Tile -> Management -> Edition Menu" to change the edition.
