BDRShield Migration Changelog - Version 4.0
KB ID: 115092
Description:
This knowledge base (KB) article outlines the migration changes introduced in BDRShield version 4.0.
1. Hyper-V backups configured in previous versions of BDRShield agents will be temporarily halted. New jobs will automatically be generated with identical configurations to the older jobs, and the job name will include a migration timestamp (Example: jobname_timestamp).
2. Hyper-V and MS Windows Server backups from older versions of BDRShield Backup Server will be excluded from the 'List jobs' page. New jobs mirroring the configurations of the older ones will be automatically created with the same job name. However, the historical backup data for these jobs can still be restored through the 'recovery' page on both BDRShield Backup Server and Offsite DR. The jobs will be labeled with an 'Old' tag prefixed to their names (Old_jobname).
3. For BDR/ODR servers operating on versions 3.9.0 to 3.9.1 update 1, a backend database conversion will be executed, transitioning from MySQL to PSQL.
4. Upgrading BDR/ODR servers to v4.0 is not supported for servers running version 3.8 and older. Users are strongly advised to follow the upgrade steps outlined in the document titled "Steps to Upgrade BDR/ODR Server 3.8.0 and Older Versions to Vembu BDR/ODR 4.0."
