Deleting Credential Entries from BDRShield Backup Server

Deleting Credential Entries from BDRShield Backup Server

KB ID: 115131
To remove credential entries from your Windows BDR Backup server, follow the steps below:
1. Download the BDRShield_Delete_Credential.zip from the following link and extract its contents:
2. In the extracted location, locate the BDRShield_Delete_Credential.bat file. Copy this file to the 'Vembu' folder within the BDR Backup server installation location.
For example, if the BDR Server is installed in the 'C' drive, the BDRShield folder is typically located at 'C:\Program Files\'.
3. Run the BDRShield_Delete_Credential.bat file as an administrator.
4. In the command prompt, you will be prompted to provide the 'Credential Name' you wish to remove from the BDR Backup Server. The 'Credential Name' is case-sensitive, so provide the exact credential name used when adding it to the BDR Backup Server. Press enter after entering the credential name.
5. A confirmation message will appear in the command window if the entered credential is not associated with any hosts. Type 'Y' and press enter to proceed with the deletion. Note that you cannot delete a credential associated with any of the added hosts, and attempting to do so will cause backups to fail.
6. If the credential name is active, the associated hostname will be displayed in the status.txt file.
