The BMR Manual Download Method in BDRSuite/BDRCloud offers a convenient way to restore data by manually downloading disks. This article provides a detailed guide on how to utilize this method effectively.
1. Accessing the BDRSuite/BDRCloud Console:
- Log in to your BDRSuite/BDRCloud console.
- Navigate to the "Restore To Backup Data" page.
2. Initiating Restore:
- Click on the "Restore" button corresponding to the Disk Image backup.
- Choose the "Download Disks (Manual Method)" option.
- Confirm your selection by clicking "OK".
3. Timestamp Selection:
- Select the desired timestamp for data restoration.
- Proceed by clicking "Next".
4. Disk Selection and Format:
- Choose the disk and disk format you wish to download.
- Click "Next" to proceed.
5. Configuration Review:
- Review the selected configuration for accuracy.
- Click the "Restore" button to initiate the process.
6. Downloading Restored Disk:
- Upon completion of the restore process, the disk will be zipped.
- Access the reports page to download the zipped disk.
Note:
For BDRCloud deployments, the restored VHD file will be provided in a ZIP format. You must extract it before proceeding with the recovery.
For BDRSuite On-Premise deployments, the VHD will be directly restored to the specified location—no extraction required.
Connect a bootable USB drive containing the BMR Recovery ISO to the new (raw) machine.
Power on the machine and boot from the USB/ISO.
Ensure the machine is connected to the network.
Once the recovery environment loads, review the license agreement.
Click Accept to continue.
On the Configuration Settings page, click Configure Network.
Enter the required Static IP settings.
Save and apply the configuration.
From the Configuration Settings page, select Map Drive from the left-hand menu.
Enter the path to the shared network location where the restored VHD file is stored.
Save the settings and exit the wizard.
Open Command Prompt from the recovery environment.
Run a network test (e.g., ping google.com
) to confirm connectivity.
On the main screen, go to BMR Recovery Options → Recovery Disk/Partition Using VHD.
Click Next.
Use the Browse option to select the VHD file from the mapped network drive.
Follow the prompts to begin the recovery process.
After the recovery is complete, the interface will display a Finish status.
Reboot the machine.
Upon boot, verify that the system and data have been successfully restored.
Ensure hardware compatibility (e.g., disk controllers, firmware) between the new machine and the original source system.
If the machine fails to boot after recovery, verify BIOS/UEFI settings and confirm the correct boot device is selected.
A stable network connection is required throughout the recovery process.
