Remote Registry Access Issue When Adding Microsoft Hyper-V or Microsoft Windows Host to BDRShield Backup Server or BDRShield Client
KB ID: 117003
Symptom:
When attempting to add a Microsoft Hyper-V or Microsoft Windows host using the BDRShield Backup Server or BDRShield Client, the process may fail, accompanied by the error message "Problem while accessing remote registry in the target host."
Cause:
This error arises due to the remote registry service being either stopped or disabled on the target host.
Solution:
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1. Open the "services.msc" utility.
2. If the remote registry service is in a stopped state, start it.
3. If the remote registry service is disabled, modify its logon setting from disabled to automatic, and then start the service.
4. Once the remote registry service is enabled, attempt to add the host again using the Vembu BDR server or VMBackup client.
