BDRShield (formerly BDRSuite) - Cloud-Managed Hybrid Backup with Cyber-Resilience

BDRShield (formerly BDRSuite) - Cloud-Managed Hybrid Backup with Cyber-Resilience

What is BDRShield?

BDRShield is our next-generation backup and cyber-resilience solution, created by unifying BDRSuite and BDRCloud into one platform. It brings together proven strengths under a single brand, with a sharper focus on resilience and simplicity.

BDRShield is designed as a cloud-managed hybrid backup solution with cyber-
resilience, delivering:
  • Centralized cloud console to manage all backups
  • Hybrid storage flexibility (local + cloud)
  • Built-in ransomware-proof protection
  • Unified backup and disaster recovery for servers, endpoints, VMs, SaaS, cloud, and databases

Why the change from BDRSuite to BDRShield?

Backup has always been our strength with BDRSuite and BDRCloud. But today, ransomware, compliance demands, and downtime risks mean backup must do more. BDRShield reflects this shift — uniting BDRSuite and BDRCloud into one platform, with resilience-first capabilities like a cloud-managed console, hybrid storage, ransomware protection with immutability, and instant recovery. It’s not a replacement — it’s the evolution from just backup to backup + resilience.

Is BDRShield a completely new product?

No. BDRShield is not a replacement — it’s the unification of BDRSuite and BDRCloud. You still have the same platform you know, with all your current capabilities intact. What’s different is the focus:
  • Cloud-managed console as the central way to manage backups
  • Resilience-first features like immutability, Zero Trust access, and instant recovery
  • One platform, one brand to simplify your experience going forward

What does BDRShield launch mean for existing customers?

  • No action is required — your setup continues as is.
  • The new brand name (BDRShield) will appear in the upcoming release.
  • All existing features, workloads, and storage options remain supported.
  • You will automatically benefit from resilience-focused improvements.

What does BDRShield launch mean for MSPs & Channel Partners?

  • Your partner account and programs remain the same. No action is required — the transition will be seamless.
  • You can continue offering the same trusted protection to clients, now with resilience-first enhancements.
  • All margins, licensing models, and support commitments continue unchanged.

Will BDRShield change my current backups and configurations?

No. All existing backups, configurations, and policies will continue to function as they are. The transition does not require any changes from your side.

What happens to BDRSuite and BDRCloud with the launch of BDRShield?

They are now unified under the new brand BDRShield. All future updates, releases, and enhancements will carry the BDRShield name.

Will BDRShield affect pricing or licensing?

No. Your existing pricing, subscriptions, and license terms remain valid. BDRShield continues to offer industry-low pricing, flexible licensing (monthly, annual, or multi-year), and no vendor lock-ins.

Do I need to install anything new to use BDRShield?

No. Your existing setup continues. The BDRShield brand and updates will be reflected in the upcoming release automatically.

How does BDRShield impact ongoing support?

Support continues as usual. There is no change to your existing support plan, contacts, or SLAs. Customers & Partners can continue reaching us at bdr-support@vembu.com

Where can I find more details about BDRShield?

How can I get started with BDRShield?

Do I need hardware or appliances to use BDRShield?

No. BDRShield is cloud-first and appliance-free — you can manage all backups directly through a centralized cloud console. BDRShield also supports self-hosted deployment, ideal for air-gapped setups, compliance requirements, or hybrid environments.

Can I manage my current BDRSuite setup from the latest BDRShield Cloud Management Console?

No. If you were using BDRSuite earlier, your setup is now the BDRShield Self-hosted Management Console, which remains locally managed. The BDRShield Cloud Management Console (formerly BDRCloud) is a separate for full cloud-based management. Self-hosted setups cannot be automatically managed through the cloud console.

BDRShield Cloud (Previosuly BDRCloud) currently operates from the following locations:

  • Virginia (US-East)

  • Singapore (Asia Pacific-Southeast)
