How does KVM Backup work?

How does KVM Backup work?

Step 1 - Agentless KVM Backup: BDRShield uses an agentless backup solution for KVM, leveraging native capabilities to simplify the process without needing individual VM agents.

Step 2 - Snapshot Creation: BDRShield captures the complete state of the KVM VM, including OS, disks, and files, ensuring a consistent point-in-time backup.

Step 3 - Secure Data Transfer: The backup data is securely transferred to the designated repository (local storage or cloud) with encryption to ensure data integrity.

Step 4 - Incremental Backups: After the initial full backup, BDRShield performs incremental backups, capturing only the changes made since the last backup to optimize efficiency.

Step 5 - Data Retention and Management: BDRShield offers flexible retention policy options, allowing organizations to define the retention duration for KVM VM backup data.

Step 6 - KVM Recovery: In case of data loss, VM failure, or disasters, BDRShield supports reliable and instant recovery of KVM VMs, including entire VMs, individual files, folders, and granular application-level recovery.
