How to Get Started
Step 1: Download and Install BDRShield Backup Server
To install the BDRShield Backup Server, watch the below installation video.
Step 2:Create Backup Repository Configuration
Configure local or remote storage such as DAS, NAS, SAN, or use your own public cloud storage like S3, Azure, Google, S3 Compatible like Wasabi, MinIO, etc as a backup storage target to store backup data.
Step 3. Add Hyper-V as a Data Source
Navigate to ‘Data Sources - Hypervisors -> Microsoft Hyper-V' menu. Watch the How-to Video below for detailed instructions.
Step 4: Configure Hyper-V VM Backup
Specify a backup job name & select the backup repository
Select Hosts/VMs for backup
Exclusions (optional): Exclude specific VMs or Disks from backup
Guest Processing Settings: Enable only if you want to perform transactionally consistent backups, log truncation, and system file exclusions on the VM guest OS.
Configure backup scheduling to perform incremental and full backups
Configure retention, encryption, and backup proxy (optional)
Save the backup job. The backup will run as per schedule
