Microsoft Exchange Server Recovery

You can perform granular recovery of Microsoft Exchange Server directly from the BDRShield Backup Server. To begin, click on the Recovery tab on the BDRShield Backup Server home screen and select Restore Backup Data. A list of all backup jobs will be displayed, from which you can select the one to restore and click on the restore icon.

Note: Ensure all prerequisites are checked before starting the recovery process.

Several recovery options will be available to choose from, depending on your needs.

Step 1: Choose Host and Restore Type

Select the host from the list of available backed-up hosts on the left side of the screen, and choose the recovery type—Microsoft Exchange Server Recovery in this case.

Step 2: Choose the Restore Version

Pick the restore point based on the retention policy set during configuration. Select the appropriate restore point according to your requirements.

Step 3: Exchange DB Selection

Choose the Exchange Database you want to restore. A pop-up window will inform you that the disk with the selected database will be mounted for the restoration process.

Step 4: Choose Exchange Mailbox

After mounting the database, you will need to select the mailbox to recover. Choose from the list of mailboxes that appear and select the folders and items you wish to restore.

Step 5: Restore Options

You have several options for restoring your mailbox:
  • Export as PST
  • Save as EML
  • Save as HTML
  • Export to Exchange Server

Step 6: Review & Restore

Review your restore configurations and click on Restore.
