Introduction:
BDRShield Client Agent is compatible with the following versions of Windows operating systems. Ensure that your system runs on one of the specified versions:
  1. Windows Server 2012 R2 / 2012 / 2008 R2
  2. Windows 2008 SP2 / 2003 SP2 & later
  3. Windows SBS 2011 / 2008 / 2003
  4. Windows 7 / Windows XP SP2 & later
User Guide for Client Agent Installation on Windows:
Step 1: Login to your BDR backup server console and click the "Download" button from the top right corner. Download the Windows Client installer.
Step 2: Run the downloaded installer. The installation process will initiate with the following wizard. Click "Next" to proceed.

Step 3: You will encounter a wizard presenting BDRShield’s license agreement. Read and accept it.

Step 4: After accepting the agreement, enter the name for the 
BDRShield client agent ID. By default, it will be your system name. It is recommended to use your email ID as the BDRShield client ID since it is globally unique. Click "Next" to proceed.


Step 5: Choose the installation option: "Typical" or "Custom." If you choose "Typical," the installer will automatically select an optimized configuration. If you prefer customization, select "Custom" and modify the default values. Click "Next" after making your selection.
Step 6: In the next wizard, click "Install" to begin the installation of BDRShield client.

Step 7: Once the installation process is completed, a confirmation message will appear.

Step 8: Click "Finish" to exit the setup. The BDRShield client service is now successfully installed. Access the BDRShield Client web console in a web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Chrome) by typing "localhost:6060" or "http://machineip:6060/" in the URL.

Step 9: Enter the username and password for the web console, then click "Login."

Step 10: In the subsequent window, select the timezone corresponding to your location and click "Save."

Step 11: You will see a window to provide the backup server details. Enter the backup server IP address to which you intend to back up your data and click "Connect."

You have successfully completed the installation and setup of BDRShield Client on your system. You can now proceed with configuring backups from the BDRShield Client.
